Vision & Mission - The Friendship Circle of Wisconsin
Our vision:
To create a Wisconsin where all individuals, regardless of ability, are accepted, empowered, and connected so that no one experiences social isolation.
Our mission:
To empower individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges to overcome isolation through friendships, build self-esteem, develop essential skills, and contribute positively to their communities—fostering a more connected Wisconsin.
Friendship matters:
Isolation, boredom, and lack of direction—sadly, these are daily occurrences for far too many children and adults with disabilities and mental health challenges. Studies show that loneliness worsens depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline while increasing risks for chronic pain, cardiovascular disease, and more. Loneliness increases the risk of early death by 30%. It’s as lethal as smoking 15 cigarettes a day—and simple Friendship can cure it.
How Friendship Circle of Wisconsin is different:
The Friendship Circle of Wisconsin (FCWI), a division of Lubavitch of Wisconsin, is dedicated to fostering a more inclusive community for individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges. Through our diverse social, educational, and vocational programs, we create opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and meaningful connections.
Our mission is to empower individuals by providing a supportive environment where they can thrive. With the invaluable help of our compassionate volunteers, we offer a space where friendship, respect, and acceptance are at the core. Regardless of their challenges, everyone deserves to participate fully in community life, build lasting relationships, and contribute their unique gifts.
Friendship Circle’s programs go beyond providing essential job skills and mental health support—they foster deep, meaningful friendships that impact participants and volunteers. Our volunteers, including teens and adults, gain invaluable life experiences and develop a lifelong appreciation for kindness, empathy, and generosity.
Together, we are creating a stronger, more inclusive Wisconsin where everyone can be seen, valued, and celebrated for who they are.
